Trying to photograph your cat is typically not an easy task. If you haven't tried yet, you could be in for quite an experience. As you can probably imagine, your cat will not just sit still and wait patiently as you snap that ultimate cute shot.
Here are some tips to hopefully help you capture that photo with that 5 paw cute factor!
- Don't give up! That winning shot is there, you just have to be patient. Your cat can sense any anxiousness - relax and have fun with your photo shoot!
- Since all photos within the mosaic have to be landscape (or horizontal) in orientation, please be sure not to turn the camera on its side and take a portrait oriented photo. If you did, no worries, you can always crop it during the upload process.
- Cats move fast and blink fast. If you keep taking photos where cat has his or her eyes closed, try taking photos in a well lit room and turning off the flash.
- Don't be afraid to take lots of photos. In today's world of film-less digital cameras there are no penalties for being trigger happy. Taking 100 not-so-great shots for that ONE great photo is more than fine. I truly have no idea how it was done before the age of digital cameras...how much film must have been wasted ;-(
- Be sure your cat is in one of his or her favorite places. Making sure your cat is relaxed and completely comfortable will help tremendously.
- Have a prop. A fuzzy or shinny toy in your hand or on a stick can help your cat focus and remain still as you try to capture that favorite pose.
- Time of day is important. You know your cat and know what time of day he or she is the most relaxed and focused; this will be the time to have that photo shoot. Shooting in natural daylight is always better, however this may not coincide with your cats schedule.
